Has anyone had any experience with the HP dv6500t? I won't be purchasing it for a month or two, as I keep hearing talking about DX 10. However, I'm pretty sure this computer has Santa Rosa or at least will have Santa Rosa in it. Here are the specs on my customized computer.

This would cost about 1,800 dollars. My main problem is the graphics card -- I'm a gamer, and I want this computer to last four years.

If you're a gamer don't buy that laptop. You'll want the dedicated graphics processor.
-
As the above poster said, the X3100 is not going to cut it. You will have to wait until the nvidia graphics show up as an option on the dv6500t.
And yes, this laptop contains the Santa Rosa (965) chipset. -
Speaking of which, nVidia just launched their GeForce 8600M and 8400M chips last week. If all goes well at HP, then we should see 8400M on dv6500 and 8600M on dv9500 (if the past is any indication) soon.
-
According to an HP press release that someone posted on NBR, the 8400M is supposed to be an option in the dv2500t as well.

any time table ? thanks

-
Awesome, thanks guys! Once that graphic card becomes available, would you guys think this would be a good buy -- one that will allow me to game at high graphics and last for the foreseeable future?
-
How much better is this 8400m compared to a go7400? is it similar card just made for Santa Rosa?
-
The 8400M is comparable to the current 7600, according to what I've read (The new 8600M should be on par with the current go 7900). Keep in mind there are like 3 or 4 versions of the 8400, though.. so the 'G' will differ in performance from the 'GTX' or 'GS', etc.
Here are some quick benchmarks from nvidia via the article over at Anandtech..

Also im pretty sure its a mistake by hp on the 320gb 7200rpm hard drive.. they dont make one that big... that is 7200rpm.....i thought iwas only 200gb
-
8400M is better than 6800 ?
-
There is no 7200rpm on the dv6500t, just checked their website it is gone. Spoke to a rep and they said it was a mistake...back to 5400rpm. Waiting for the Nvidia card here though.

I'm looking at the dv6500t and plan to buy when it releases the nvidia cards and Im wondering which 8400M card it will come with the G, GS, or GT?
My guess is the dv2500t will come with nVidia 8400M G or GS while the dv6500t will come with GS or GT. I'm hoping the dv6500t will come with the 8400m GT.
Anyone know or have more information on this? -
Awh, I was loving the idea of a 7200 RPM hard drive!
Are there any other notebooks out there that are comparable to the dv6500t that will have Santa Rosa and DX 10?
The dv6500t
