Any way to customize them? I really don't have a need for two buttons to auto open HP QuickPlay, a program I never use...
The 'QuickPlay' button, and the 'DVD' button...

i believe all hp pavilions have these buttons but i'm not 100% sure on that. Anyway, my model number is dv9235nr

And to be more specific, i would like to change what these buttons do. For example, instead of opening HP QuickPlay, it could open Firefox, or my videos folder. I was able to do such things with my Microsoft keyboard, so i'm wondering if it's poss to do the same with these keys...

there is an "add button" right next to the assignments thing there, and you can browse and set it to a program

Start -> HP quicklaunch buttons -> change the programs associated to the icons.

It's totally not in my start menu. I might have deleted it when I just got my computer and I was deleting some of the useless shortcuts like AOL and whatever else there was.

Any other way of accessing it?

It's also not in my control panel for some reason. I installed the latest drivers for it, supplied from HP's site...

CyRu5 -- you're SOL, I'm afraid. The control panel applet to reconfigure what the buttons do, only exists in Windows XP. In Vista, you're stuck with the way they came configured -- at least for now.

HP's current Vista drivers don't support customising the shortcuts but I hope that'll be changed soon.
