...Because Dell Did? I would want that because the dell is still ugly but E1520 > Dv6500T Just because it has Good GFX. But HP Design + 86/700GT = :)

On their consumer lines, they put a pretty high end graphics card into their 15.4".

If memory serves me correctly, it was a dv4000, v4000 with a x700. In the end, there were so much heat issues that HP just took the option off. Through this experience, I believe HP will be a bit more conservative in terms of the graphics cards.

lols. I'd Love a 8700GT in a 12" That will kill my chances of having kids if i try it on my lap. I leave laptops on desks anyway and turn them off when moving them. Just dont like moving huge laptops.

My guess would be cooling issues on the current consumer chassis. As someone who just came from the older generation "boxy" HP laptops to these new streamlined thinner ones, I can definitely see the difference in thermal characteristics (as less space usually equates to more heat). Even the lightweight Go 7200 radiates some serious heat under load, and I'd imagine that a 8600GT would be much worse to control). This is only a guess though, as I have never handled an 8-series gpu.

    :)

My X1600 laptop is about an inch thick...and it runs very hot when gaming...85C +/-...

HP seriously needs to hire some people who know more about heat transfer...

^Thanks for the tip on the 1520! I'm returning my dv6500t for a Dell Inspiron 1520, and I can get (for the same or better price, dep. on tax and shipping) double-sized HDD, 8600M GT, anti-glare screen (do not like HP's), etc.
