I'm not a gamer, but use the internet often and constantly have 4-5 windows open. My current computer is a 4 year old dell inspiron with a 13.3 screen.
Thinking of upgrading to 8GB, and either the M6-1045 or the smaller screen DM4-3055dx. What I've seen is mixed reviews on the DM4, but better reviews from the M6.
Any assistance would be welcome. Are there any unbiased reviews that you can point me to? Are the keys easy to use? Is the battery life consistent with the advertising?
Thanks in advance for any help.

you can go to bestbuy and play with the demo. nothing beats playing with it yourself.
i just did that yesterday.
it will more than handle what you need to do, and do things very quickly.
HD4000 graphics can also play lightweight games, or current games on low setting.
Compared to HD3000 9 fps in cinebench openGL test, HD4000 gets double performance.
the keyboard is pretty comfortable to use, and it is backlit.
mouse buttons are quiet.
Battery life will all depend on the capacity. More Whr, the better. Core i5 is pretty frugal on battery juice.
the thing that I don't like compared to the old dv6 is that the screen can't open more than 135 degrees. the old dv6 opened to 175.
the m6-1045 seems good, but not $699-good.
i would not pay more than $600 for it. It's still just a plastic laptop with aluminum bits on the surface.
if you base it on the last generation core i5 prices, this thing shouldn't even be more than $550, which was the going price of thinner aluminum clad core i5 laptops of last generation.
It has a thinner lid than the dv6, and the bottom case is slightly thinner, but it does not warrant such a price premium. -
Purchased a new one in July, 2012. It started freezing andgoing blank after about 45 days. Spent many hours on the phone with HP techsupport getting nowhere, pulling the battery compartment to check wiring, reinstalling BIOS, etc. They finally gave up and told me I needed to send it inand it would take at minimum of 2 weeks. Not acceptable for a new computer!Returned it to Best Buy and they were great! We were out of the company policyfor returns but they did it for us. We got a new replacement in Sept. 2012. Weadded Geek Squad protection. Thank goodness because about a month later the dvddriver stopped working. I spent another 2-3 hours on the phone with Geek Squad, who couldn't get it to work and put me in contact with a 3rd party to work onit. Finally got it to work. I don't use it much, but I went to use it yesterdayand again the dvd driver is code 52, not working. I was returning something at Best Buy todayand another person was there with the same computer and issue. The sales personsaid they have had all kinds of issues with this computer and they recommendeda Lenovo. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPUTER AND BRAND!!!!!!<o
