The backstory to my situation is up there.

So HP finally agreed to replace my system, again.

    I'm glad they're replacing it.

They're also giving me a nice upgrade. Going from a Core 2 Duo T5300, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, DVD writer, and Intel GMA 950 to a Core 2 Duo T7250 (Santa Rosa, 2GHz, but only 2MB of L2 cache), 2GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, DVD writer, and a GeForce 8400M GS 128MB. Oh an the "high capacity" 6 cell battery. Maybe now it'll last 2 hours on battery? I think he might have said its coming with the fingerprint reader, webcam, and all that too but that doesn't really matter to me.

Its a decent upgrade, thats for sure. I commend HP on going so far as to actually give a somewhat significant upgrade over the previous system... which was actually a downgrade from my original system in terms of GPU.

But I can't say I have my hopes too high. If it goes a week without any kind of issues, then I'll be happy.

New system will be here in around a week and a half or so. We'll see.

Good luck! Be sure to do a burn test of the system for a couple of days. I've been been leaving my new laptop on for 6+ hours a day for burn test, and so far it's running fine and great!
