Ok, let me get the facts out first:
DV2400
Conexant audio w/ HD smartaudio HD2 driver
Cleared all cache, history, temp files...
ran several anti-virus, spyware programs to make sure this isn't a virus
Ok, this is how I noticed the problem. I plugged in my iphone earbuds w/ mic into the microphone jack in the front and used windows sound recorder to record voice. It didn't pick up much of my voice but it picked up a radio station. If i unplugged the earbuds and hit record again, it only pick up static noise. Has any of you experience this problem? Pretty sure this isn't a virus...just something our laptop does.
Verify this on your end and report back. Hope this isn't just an isolated instance.

hmm.. maybe your laptop has an fm tuner which uses your earbuds as an aerial. Ive had mobile phones use that method before. That would be a reason why the radio doesnt come on when theyre pulled out eh
If there is a tuner and you have the HP sound drivers installed im pretty sure there'll be an option somewhere in the included software.

All electronic devices are susceptible to radio interference. It's a semi-common problem in guitar amplifiers. It's due to poor shielding in the connections.

Try to find a ferrite core. http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G6683 they are common on TV cords. It looks like a donut about a half an inch across. Loop the cord through it and it should get rid of the interferance. It works by inductance causing the radio waves to cancel out.
This is weird. Microphone jack picking up radio station.
