Hey guys, so I had to replaced my motherboard because..for short.. I messed up my bios. I was looking on the web for a decent replacement. I came across a few sites and ebay listings. The average price I found on the web was about $500.

However I came across this vendor named Shenzhen LiHaiCheng Technology Co., Ltd

They specialize in HP's and Dell's and many other things. They have high ratings too !
They offer what other sites offer for one fourth of the price ($140-> $190 incl 5 days international shipping). I was doubting at the first place but after consulting with the agent (Vivian Wei). I gave it a shot. She did her best to accommodate me with my purchase (despite her not so great proficiency in English). And she did guarantee with me I would receive it within 5 days. Their invoice is well stated. The handling is great too (motherboard was packed in anti-static bags, wrapped in bubble bags, then in carton). And I received it 2 days earlier then expected :) happy.
Warranty is 45 days to 3 months if consult. The company looks professional.

I wanted to share this experience because just in case anyone want to upgrade or replace without getting rip off. :D

p.s: the DHL agent called me when I was sleeping to remind that I should put a note on my door if i was away. I thought that was nice.

Just curious here (and I do appreciate the information you are sharing), but what notebook mainboard are you replacing that costs $500?

have you checked ebay for a broken one that maybe has a good mobo?

There are a fair number of people who buy large quantities of scrapped laptops, take the parts to rebuild 'reconditioned' units, and sell both the working complete laptops and the leftover parts for others to use.

shenzhen is where one of the factories that makes these boards is based. I doubt they will come with any 'worthwhile' warranty, but yes, I also have bought parts from them before in the past with no issues.
