So what are everyone's thoughts on HP's Total Care Extended Service Plan w/Accidental Damage Protection or without the ADP (Accidental Damage Protection)
I know I have until the PC is a year old to purchase the protection.

I know my renters policy is supposed to cover any accident to any of my computer products! It is a nice add on to my policy for 56 dollars a year that covers any accident with no deduct for up to $3,000 to any of my pc stuff it just does not cover component failure. This is the reason I am really just considering the Total Care without the ADP.

    Thanks

    Thanks,
Still wondering if I should get the ADP. Has anyone had many issues with ther pc?

I know a guy I work with has had any issue with many things on his HP. He got the BB extended warranty. First his CD-Rom drive was bad. He took it in and they said they would not touch the hard drive and boom they wiped the damn thing. Then the replacement stopped working 3 months later and now the internal wireless stopped working. It is still under the extended warenty, but he is lazy and has not taken it back in, which bugs the crap out of me.
    Thanks

I would get the ADP because you never know what will happen to your laptop. You could be at an airport and some little kid running around could trip and spill his drink all over your laptop. It's just added protection that will save you from having to spend another $1000 or more on another laptop. Also, it's not much more expensive to get the ADP with the warranty.

Now in regards to a warranty, it really depends on how often you purchase a laptop and how long you are going to keep this current one. I always tell people to get a warranty if they plan on keeping the laptop until it dies, because for the $350 (I think this is the price), you get 3 years with the accidental coverage.

Also, if you have the ADP and your laptop gets smashed for some reason 2 years down the road and they don't carry your model anymore they will have to upgrade you to a new model.
