I'm looking for a laptop for my daughter in college and seen this one at Circuit city on sale for $749 this week. It seems like a very good computer at a good price. It may include a printer too. The HP laptops seem so much sleeker than the Dells I've been looking at out on their site. Any thoughts on it? Is it a good deal?

Most AMD processors do not need much L2 cache, as it has the integrated memory controller.

    Great build though!

I would buy it, I have been eyeing them in the ads, better specs then mine for about $400 less. I love this laptop, it has been working great for 4 months now and I was so enamored that I bought another hp for work.

The only thought I have had is perhaps I should have gone with the dv2000 14.1 inch screen for better portability, but oh well.

    Good luck with your decision.

I think that as of right now, for the money it has the best feature set for the money at $750. It is now down to just one rebate vs. 2 for the last 2 weeks. If you get it, there is a user support group at:

The equivalent computer at Best Buy is the dv6448se although this may have a 12 cell battery (larger, heavier but longer lasting). Officemax has an equivalent model too. It is on sale this week for 849 but includes a printer, laptop backpack, etc. It is on the front page of their circular for this week.
