I've done all my research and have settled on the HP dv9700T, but now wonder about the timing to get the best pricing.

HP has a deal now for $150 instant rebate and an additional $200 off, for a total of $350 off and free shipping. In doing the research, I see that fairly recently HP had $500 off customized notebooks.

I'm wondering if I should go ahead and do the deal now and get the $350 off or if I should wait and see if they duplicate the $500 off deal in the near future. Perhaps HP has season deals historically but I'm not aware of what they are.

At any rate, my motherboard is starting a slow decline on my desktop and we will be needing a new pc within 3 months.

Any help, thoughts, comments or suggestions appreciated.

If I were you I will get it know if you have the money and the spec are good, because the DV9700T is an old model and it is in its way out. So you never know if you are go to see the $500 rebate againg..
