I thought I had my heart set on the 14.1"......

I havent seen the 15.4" in person, how much bigger is the system? Is it a night/day difference? I really do like the size of the 14.1, but Id be willing to deal with the extra size of of the 15.4" if its minimal, especially since they are the same size.

I dont think I will, but I may end up using it a bit in class as well. How would a 15.4" be on a classroom desk? Any of you happen to have side by side comparisson pics of these 2 notebooks?

If it's going to be portable, I recommend getting the smallest usable size. The 15.4" will be significantly larger and heavier. A 14" wide is actually pretty large still and certainly a good machine for desk use with some portability.

I'd notice quite a difference between those two screen sizes. You should also notice about a two pound difference in weight also. For me personally, a 13 to 14 inch widescreen is perfect for me, not too big and not too small. Just right.

One interesting thing I thought I should point out is the size of the 15.4" that I am looking at.

    Asus Z70V - 13.9" x 10.7" x 1" - 15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050)
    HP DV1000 - 13.1" x 9" x 1.2" (14.1" WS) WXGA (1280x768)

Dell 2650 (on now) - 12.9" x 10.8" x 1.42" - I find this size good, dont think 1" more will be too much, hopefully.

Doesnt seem to be MUCH difference. I really do wish I could get my hands on this Asus

I find the HP Dv1000 plenty small for my needs, anything smaller is, well, just too small for my taste.

I think I will have to find some 15.4's before I make up my mind
