Ok. I have a dv6000z with a AMD turion 2x 1.8ghz processor. 80gb HD, and their standard Nvidia GPU.
my temps at a normal load (1 messaging progtam, and 1 browser)
HD 47C
ACPI 62C
AMD 46C
GPU 72C
to HP this is abnormal and requires me to send it in and get it repaired for $298 because I'm not out of warrenty. ouch!

None of those temps are particularly high, but the GPU is pushing it a little bit. You might want to read the Cooling Guide and try a few (much) cheaper tricks to bringing your temps down. A good dusting and a cooling fan will probably help you the most.
-
ok, cooling fan, you mean the pads for under the notebook?
-
Undervolt the CPU. Mine undervolted superbly and the temperature dropped
-
I have no clue how to do that. and wont that take away from performance?
-

I will try the cooling pad and cleaning my fans first. if that doesnt help much, I'll use the artic silver stuff.. undervolting will be my last resort

brianstretch Notebook Virtuoso
Those temps look pretty normal to me, if anything the CPU temp is better than normal. GPUs run hot. HD temps under 50C are good for notebooks.
-
those temps look fine, just make sure the GPU doesnt go much higher
-
Although, i would like the temps to be lower, especially the GPU temp, i don't think they are that high now. I mean, the default treshold temp for the nVidia GPU in graphics setting is set to 125C, so i guess those nVidia GPUs can take quite a beating.
Too hot?
