    I am about to send my laptop into HP to get serviced but i have torrents downloaded on my laptop would hp look at my files or do anything about it if they did see i had torrents on my laptop?

    Do they have the ability to go through your hard drive? Yep.

    Will they purposefully go through your drive to look for certain files? Unlikely, but it's a possibility.

    It's always a great idea to delete or encrypt your data before sending off for repairs.

    Take out the HDD and tell them it has personal stuff of privacy for you and not for them. They should be able to put their own HDD and test it.

    HP is known to wipe your HDD and restore back to factory default. :)
