    Hi,

I have an HP Pavilion dv4000 and the left side of the built in mouse is giving me problems. It just stopped working. I can right click with ease but nothing on the left. I did install Windows XP but it's been installed for about a week and I haven't had any problems.

I checked the touch pad's settings and there isn't anything that needs to be adjusted. Could there be something underneath the left side even if it doesn't feel that way when I click it? How can I get it to work again?

    Thanks in advance.

I think your best option is getting in touch with HP.

Sounds like the actual button has failed. Definitely a hardware issue.
