I cannot enable tapping on the Alps touchpad on the zv5000z. What am I doing wrong? Nothing like tipping option in the mouse preferences.

I'm strating to feel like I'm heading back to the stone age with this Alps touchpad!! Help...

OK. figured it out. zv5000z still comes with old drivers that DO NOT have advanced mouse options!

How to fix the mose pad:

    download
    SP25796.exe
from HP website, and execute it. That will look like installing the drivers, but will not actually install them: you'll see no difference in mose options after the file execution. No tapping option yet!

However, it will create a new folder. If you look at Apfiltr.inf in this folder, there's the tapping option described in the ini settings. So I just executed all *.exe files found in this folder (except uninstall, of course :), and voila, the mouse settings gained quite a few new options including a rather elaborate tapping.
