My Envy 14 didn't used to do this, but I haven't been able to figure out what causes it. Basically it seems to be registering two clicks for each tap. Like if I tap the wrench in the top right corner of my chrome window, it will open, then close.

I have tap to click enabled and am using the envy TouchPad custom drivers from this forum.

    Ideas on how to fix?

PS: I'm not running two incidences of envy Touchpad.

You need to disable the single tapping in the Synaptics driver or in the envyTouchpad program. Each is registering a tap at this point
