Hi I own a dv6t-6100 and the backlight on the touchpad no longer worked when I booted up this morning. If I turn it off, the red light at the top still shows but once I try to turn it on, nothing lights up. Could this be a software problem since I didn't receive this laptop too long ago?

try reinstalling the driver for it, if that doesnt work return it, its a hardware issue.

I'll try that tonight with mine. I feel it is a waste of battery.

fn + spacebar did the trick for me. I was never aware of that keyboard shortcut so thanks!
