In Sony vaio laptops you can go back, forward on a browser using the touchpad. The top region is similar to horizontal scroll. I haven't seen such an option in HP laptops. Is there any way to get similar functionality on HP pavilion?

Get the latest driver from Synaptics (spelling?) and you can set up all kinds of stuff. You can set touch zones for back, forward, etc. You can download a .pdf from the Synaptics download area that helps explain all of the possibilities with their touchpad driver. Most people have no clue how much their touchpad can do.

Synaptics showed gesture commands for laptops at the first of the year that are like the iPhone's, but they have not released a driver to the public (that I have found as of last week).

Where can I find latest driver for the touchpad and will it be compatible with HP, I often check HP update and I've installed all the one that it shows. Could you please guide me how can I find which drivers I need and where to get it from?
    Thank you!

Thanks, but I was looking for something more specific, like if it compatible with HP and what version, and if anyone has tried it before?

Hmm, it seems like it may just take a bit of INF file modding to get that feature. Take a look at Dell's INF file here, and copy the things relating to "BackForward" into their equivalent places in your driver's INF file.

Edit: it might be easier to just install Dell's touchpad drivers -- I think even the modern ones on their site have this feature enabled.

I installed the latest driver from synaptics website, but it doesn't give any opiotns to configure mouse gestures.
Are Dell drivers compatible with HP laptops?
