I have a strange problem.. My Presario suddenly started to not recognize my trackball...the touchpad would only move the cursor in crazy bursts that didn't seem completely under my control making it hard to point at anything. After rebooting the touchpads on both my Asus and Presario V6000 laptops both stopped working if the power supply was plugged in. My Presario touchpad still refuses to function with the supply in and the mouse cursor even starts spazzing out across the desktop occasionally.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad drivers?

I don't think its a software issue since both laptops touchpads failed near the same time
