I just sold my Compaq V6000t since I recently got a new Asus. (FWIW the V6000t was a GREAT laptop, very well-made, but I decided that I wanted something with better graphics.) It still has the Compaq warranty on it. How do I transfer the warranty, or is it even necessary? I know that for instance with Dell you're supposed to transfer the warranty but I'm not sure about Compaq. (couldn't find any info about it on their site)

    Thanks!

I don't think warranties are linked to any specific person or address. I'm pretty sure the only thing that is linked to a warranty is the serial number on the bottom of the notebook.
