hello, i recently purchased a dv2500, and whenever i close the lid, it goes into sleep mode. I would like it to lock instead of sleep, as when i open the lid again, it doesn't ask for a password, as I wanted it to do. I changed the settings so that it is supposed to ask for a password, but it doesnt.
    what do i do?

You can change what closing the lid does in Power Options.

I don't think Windows lets you to just lock your computer when you close your lid. You only have Do Nothing, Standby, or Hibernate for choices when you close your lid.

I think it would be better to have Windows prompt for password when resuming from standby. There should be that option in Power Manager.

I tell mine to do nothing. Sometimes the laptop doesn't wake up.
