    I have a dv9500t.
    Just purchased a kit of 2 x 2GB pqi 800mhz memory.
I took out the old ones and popped them in, started up and went in the bios, shows up fine there, 4096mb.
Takes a while to startup and right before it gets to the windows startup screen I get a bue screen and then it restarts right away, I don't even have a chance to read the error message.
I ran both HP's and the Bios memory tests and the memory comes up 100%, no problems.

Am I doing something wrong, do I have the wrong ram?

Here is a link to what I purchased:

Do you have the latest updates? SP1?

You should have gotten PC-5300. I know people say that PC-6400 will work fine as it will downclock to 667mhz but its not always the case

I do have SP1, the only thing I haven't updated is the BIOS to F.51, I'm always a little leery to update the bios.

I know it won't work at 800mhz, but I read a lot of posts that said it wouldn't be a problem to downclock to 667mhz.
There's nothing I have to do to downclock it correct?

Make sure to test your new RAM. See the memtest guide in my sig.
