I have the dv6tqe i7 2670 and the 6770 1gb. I've been running sc2 and skyrim on pretty good settings, overclocked at around 840/980. I also run throttlestop and usually leave set multiplier on turbo, which I believe disables any throttling.

I'm by no means an expert at any of this. I've heard a lot of people recommend throttling the cpu to get lower temps with a higher gpu oc. What should I set throttlestop to? The temps with that set up usually stay around 78-82c.

Also, I don't have coolsense so there's no throttling from that.

You guys may be able to help me with this. I can't for the life of my get skyrim to detect my radeon graphics card. For some reason the test program will on dectect my Intel on-board card and even when I change the settings in the CCP it does nothing. Ive updated the drivers, looked online, the whole nine years. By my signing up for an account on here and posting about it, u can see how desperate i am becoming. Anyone with advice or a fix would be a lifesaver!

if you havent already, update your BIOS and after you've done that, go into your BIOS and set your graphics to "manual" instead of "automatic."

If you're on Dynamic switching, did you include both SkyrimLauncher.exe and TESV.exe into CCP? If still can't you probably need to use Fixed switching.

Do you guys recommend stopping the CPU from using TurboBoost and overclocking the GPU?
My CPU reaches temps of up to 94 degrees C on some games (like Witcher 2 and BF3) while I stay in mid-high 80's with GPU?
What are average CPU temps with Turbo for you guys, should I consider repasting?

open coolsense and change the settings to coolest mode, If you already have done that then I would say ur laptop runs kinda hot, my GPU temp has never gone above 74C while CPU stays at ~83C at most, no cooling pad, just coolsense doing its thing :)

No, that's reached for extended gaming with Turbo. With Turbo off, I get 85's at CPU and 80's with GPU...
    Normal?
And by the way the Notebook is designed well because with a cooling pad I notice nothing in Temps. A quad core and 6770m in a 15inch

@xeroenvy i know what you mean, when i first tried BF3 my CPU temps also reached 93 degrees but then i set coolsense to coolest and didnt notice any drops in performance while my cpu temps never exceed 78 and GPU never exceeds 74
