    Turion and DDR2?

    I have ordered Compaq V5000Z. Hp sais that it supports DDR2 !!! Anybody knows how??? any experience? Till now I have not found any reasonable explanation...

    According to the spec sheet, it does. I would call to find out or wait to see what crucial has to say about it.

    It doesn't. HP marketing is simply clueless. AMD won't start switching to DDR2 until sometime in 2Q2006.

    I have called HP and I was told that it does support DDR2 PC 4200. I am still suspicious how? or what it exactly mean?

    DDR has faster latency than DDR2 anyways. So it's a win win situation where ever you go. And the diffrence is minimal.

    Maybe the V5000Z is using a just-released, unannounced motherboard that supports DDR2? JMO

    I dont think thats quite the case. Unlike Intel the memory controller is located on the cpu itself, so without the cpu supporting DDR2 memory the motherboard is going nowhere.
