    Hi all,
I have a HDX18" model. It has the subwoofer speaker underneath. Does anyone know how to turn it off or disable it? I find that watching anything on the laptop has some anoying vibration reverb that sounds like plastic vibrating throughout the laptop. I never encountered this on my old laptops with two standard speakers. I was not bothered that this model had the extra subwoofer speaker under the bottom at all, but it is somehow starting to annoy me now.
I have Windows 7 installed. I can not find any way to turn the sub off. Reducing the BASS does not help.
    Thanks.

Go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback > Speaker / Headphones > Properties > Levels

You should have a Subwoofer slider and mute button.

I have an HP Envy 17-1181NR and I cannot for the life of me get that subwoofer slider to show up.

I did a clean install and recently found the correct audio driver listed on the forum here, but I still don't see that bass control.

I also don't get anything to show up when I hit 'Fn+b'

    Any ideas?
