Does anyone know how to turn off the annoying drag and hold option for the touchpad when tapping is enabled? I tried unchecking the box called "Drag-and-hold" and also tried putting release time to very short. But the stupid thing sometimes still holds and drags stuff. I must say this is the single reason I've used the buttons all this time.

try uninstalling the alps software, you might loose the side scroller though

I tried uninstalling the driver (I'm guessing that's what you referred to) and I did indeed lose the side scroller. Isn't it possible to remove that feature through some registry setting? I'm quite amazed that more people aren't annoyed by the mouse sticking. ;)

Hey - If you're talking about how annoyingly sensitive the drag and drop is on this touchpad, then yeah! I accidentally dragged my music folder into my gaming folder and I'm not Windows VISTA saavy yet, so it merged the two. Then I tried to delete it and it would delete both. I ended up having to do a system restore to get my MUSIC folder back!!!

BUT THERE IS A FIX. Either disable tapping or make it more difficult to DRAG by going to CONTROL PANEL then MOUSE and under TAPPING, click the LOCK Drag and drop option and set it to manual drop. This way - if you accidentally drag something, it won't drop unless you click again and it makes it harder to drag PERIOD.
