I'm thinking about getting a DV5T. Quite often I give presentations in dark rooms and I'd rather not have the logo lit up on the lid. Has anyone found a way to turn this off either through a program or making a registry change? It must be possible, since I noticed at Best Buy that the light goes off when the system goes to sleep, like when you close the lid.

    Thanks,

    Jim

i think if you turn off the screen the logo should turn off since the logo should be lit by the backlight of the screen.

Yeah, I believe the logo light is the same light powering the screen, so if you turn off the screen backlight then so does the logo, if you turn up the screen so does the logo.

At least that is how it works with Mac notebooks, and I believe its the same for the DV5T. I see no reason why, if they don't have to, they'll install another light to power that when there's a screen backlight already!

Stick a post it note or a piece of electrical tape there when doing the presentations.

HP logo doesn't change brighness when one adjust the brightness of the screen suggesting that separate LED is used for that task.
