I normally put my tx2500 into hibernation when I want to put it away but today I realized that it didn't go into hibernation but just into sleep mode. After that I accidentally turned my computer off instead of waking it up. Once I turned my computer back on I got the vista loading screen and then after loading the screen went blank I could hear the windows start up tune but the screen remained black. After pushing some random buttons and tapping the screen I hear a voice taking about hitting the space bar for changing sticky key settings and to type without using the keyboard. But still no screen. I went into safe mode and I got a screen but I still don't know what is going one with my laptop when I try to start it in normal mode. Thanks in advice for your any help

What happens when you close the lid again and then reopen it? I had the same problem in the past with my current notebook and this had something to do with the Forceware drivers (in my case). After installing a newer version of the Forceware drivers the problem was gone.

hmmm, doesn't seem to be working. I get the resume windows screen and I can see the bar moving across but after it is done it's loading It goes back to a blank screen. My fan is still on and the lights are on but just no screen.

hmmm I hit enter typed in my password then hit enter again and I got on to vista. it seems like the computer no longer displays the log in screen and I kind of have to hit enter password and then enter again (password then enter doesn't work). Now I restarted the computer and the log in window loads up. seems to have been a funny glitch.

I would first try to install the latest graphics drivers for your notebook and if possible install all the updates available through Windows Update.

Try hitting Fn-F4 to see if for some strange reason your notebook thought it was connected to an external display. Though that wouldn't explain why it straightened itself out after logging in.

You might want to install the new ATI Catalyst 8.12 drivers, just in case that overwrites any brain damage.

Works on my dv4z. Oops, that link's for 64-bit, you'll have to find 32-bit if that's what you're running.
