    Hi Everyone,

I just got a new tx2z yesterday, opened it up, took forever cuz of bloatware. I downloaded a copy of windows 7 from MSDNAA (Thank you college) and installed it and found drivers for the pen and everything.

I knew from the reviews that the tablet runs HOTTTTT, and was going to use RMClock since I heard people using it to undervolt their processor. However, RMClock 2.35 does not recognize my processor (AMD Turion Ultra ZM-83 2.3ghz)

I did the vista 64-bit RMClock fix in order to run the application, but since it doesn't recognize the processor, there's nothing I can do to undervolt it. HELP??????

Also, does anyone know of any fan control software that I can install that works? Something like I8K for dell that works on the tx2z? (64 bit windows 7 that is)

Use TurionPowerControl, you can find it in this forum. RMClock does not work with Griffin core processors.

Thanks! Would you know anything about software for fan control? Or is that included in TurionPowerControl.

TurionPowerControl does not offer the option to control the fan, but if i'm not mistaken, in the latest version there is the option to activate and configure the thermal throttling limit of the CPU. I don't know since i'm still using an older version, didn't bother to update it.

Yea, I found k10stat and a guide and am using it. Seems to be working since CPU-Z reports the dropped voltage and speedfan shows a drop in temperature, but is still higher than my liking.

    Before: 94C Load
    After: 87C Load

I don't really trust speedfan all that much, but the reading is a bit scary.

    Check out CoreTemp.

But those readings you are seeing are most likely correct. Those chips are designed to take 95C, 87 is an alright temperature. My DV5's full load temp was 94C too, undervolting with TurionPowerControl dropped it to around 84.

To further reduce heat, remove the battery when you are not using it. This will also give it a much longer service life.
