Hey all,
A friend of mine bought a HP DV6t in the USA (product number QJ920AV) and will be bringing it over to the UK soon.
Im wondering what charger i need to work in the UK? I had a quick look on eBay and there seemed to be a lot of replacement ones, however checking HP PartSurfer it seems as though i need a 120W charger (the laptop has a i7-2670QM) and all the ones i could see were 90W.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you

Isn't the AC charger dual voltage? 110 - 240 volts. Have the friend look on the AC charging 'brick' and it should say Input: 110 - 240v.
USA is 110v, UK is 240v.
All you need is the All-In-One Travel UK plug, (Google that) plastic plug adaptor for the UK. You plug the three prong American plug in to the back of the adaptor and it has the three prong UK plug on the front.
Additionaly, if this laptop will reside in the UK you could try find just the one half of the power cord that goes from the plug to the AC charger brick, with a UK plug already fixed to it. I know on my HP models here in Canada (110 volts and American plugs) the cord unplugs from the power brick. You should be able to find the exact same one with a UK plug already on it, eliminating the need for that Travel plug that just adds clutter. You might have seen close up pictures on ebay of the chargers, the cord with the plug on the end should unplug from the charger brick and put a UK one on?? -
Thanks a lot for the response.
I didnt even consider that it may be dual voltage. Ill ask my friend to check - thanks for the suggestion.
I have a travel plug which would work, but would prefer to get a three pin UK one. Ill have a look on eBay.
Cheers
