    Hi!Tnx for register me in this forum!It's incredible!!i write for a problem to upgrade my notebook!i want change t5250(1.5 ghz) to t7700 (2.4 ghz)cpu!!it's possible??the fsb of my t5250 is 667mhz...of the t7700 is 800mhz!!i want change because power cpu in audio application!!tnx for all!!

    According to the HP service manual, dv6600 models can use T7300, which mean it probably has a Santa Rosa chipset with 800 MHz FSB support.

    Now you have these following problems,
    1. HP Bios support T7700, which shouldn't be an issue.
    2. Getting a working T7700, I think I went through 3 refurbished T9300 trying to upgrade my old Inspiron 1420 (similar platform) and none of them worked. So good luck on this one.

    tnx for answer peidekun!but my cpu in upgrade is t7700 not t7300!!is compatible as t7300??what are the risk after the upgrade cpu??tnx!!can you link me plase the post similar in question!tnx!!soon!!

    They are both 800 MHz Merom cpus, if your computer can use one, it should be able to use the other. Use CPU-Z to look up your chipset version, then we'd know for sure. It will be probably somewhere along the line of PM965 or GS40.

    the chipset is gm965 and the socket P 478 65 mn
    BUS SPEED 166 MHZ
    RATED FSB 667 MHZ
