    Hey guys,

I have a dv2000 laptop. My remote died all of a sudden. I checked the battery manually and shining it into a webcam. All fine. It was working fine, then it just stopped midway. I need it for a powerpoint presentation by this sunday! Do i need to update any drivers? I'm running on a clean install of vista.

Remote driver is bundled with Quicklaunch button drivers.

    Try updating or outdating.

Odd...mine did the same thing all of a sudden a couple months ago and I checked using my camera phone and it seems to be working. But it just isn't working for some odd reason. I rarely use mine so it's not too big of a deal though.

Why not throw a new battery in just in case? If you did no software changes or updates might not be software related. Weak batteries can cause temperamental operations.
