Hey guys,
I have a dv2000 laptop. My remote died all of a sudden. I checked the battery manually and shining it into a webcam. All fine. It was working fine, then it just stopped midway. I need it for a powerpoint presentation by this sunday! Do i need to update any drivers? I'm running on a clean install of vista.

i would like to state that it works right after for around 15 seconds. when i reboot/hibernate my computer, but it just doesn't work afterwards.
Help please! -
Remote driver is bundled with Quicklaunch button drivers.
Try updating or outdating. -
its a clean installed vista, and i updated quickplay. the quicklaunch buttons also work too. as i said, it works sometimes, then it doesn't work??

Odd...mine did the same thing all of a sudden a couple months ago and I checked using my camera phone and it seems to be working. But it just isn't working for some odd reason. I rarely use mine so it's not too big of a deal though.

Why not throw a new battery in just in case? If you did no software changes or updates might not be software related. Weak batteries can cause temperamental operations.

PC Remote Control May Stop Working After Updating the BIOS Some bios updates knock out the remote as stated in this HP link, they have a new version for the DV2000 series to resolve the issue. See if your model applies for this fix.
