Is there any way to get the touchpad to automatically disable once you plug in an external mouse? I looked through the Windows Control Panels and I looked in the Synaptics Control Panel, and couldn't find anything. Is it possible that I could download something or change an option to disable the TouchPad when I plug in my USB Mouse on my dv2000t?

You should be able to disable the Touchpad through either the Control Panel via Mouse or the Synaptics Pointing Pad icon in the system tray, and disable the driver.

As for whether it will keep that setting I'm not sure.

I know I can disable it. I want to know if I can make the touchpad automatically disable when I plug in my USB mouse.

Why would you want to disable the mouse pad when you connect the USB mouse? If you're going to use the external mouse you wouldn't even touch the pad.
