    USB Port Broken on a dv1000

    Has anyone had experience with a broken usb port on an HP (dv 1000).

    The socket on my wife's dv 1000 is disconnected and moving around. Is this repairable?

    Where does one send HP notebooks for repair. This one is out of warranty.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Call HP support. If the thing is physically disconnected it needs to be soldered back.

    Read and look thru this thread, there is a guy that has a shop that does component level repairs on these units everday. There are also tips on what to do before sending your unit in for repair.

    If you are still under warrenty give hp a call if not you will need to take it to a repair shop and get it soddered
