    USB Sleep charging on DV7

    Is there a charging option using the usb 2.0 or 3.0 while the computer is off or sleeping like many other laptops? I have the Dv7-6143cl.

    I just put my dv7tqe to sleep and plugged my phone in on the left and right USB ports. It did start charging.

    I tried that but after I closed the lid it stopped charging. When my lid closes it goes to sleep. Which ports did you use? I believe the left two on the dv7-6143cl are the 3.0 and the right two are 2.0. I thought only 2.0 can charge in sleep or even powered off but plugged in. Your laptop must be different. Did you have to install or activate anything in power options?

    Nope, I just went to start>sleep and plugged in my phone after it went to sleep. I even tried it just now with the lid closed. All of the USB ports charge my phone while it is sleep mode. My power options are currently set to High Performance.

    Mine must be broken. On the samsung I had to activate something for them to work. Seems odd to me. Everything else works on my computer.

    I do have a jailbroke iPhone but it charged with the power off on the samsung.

    Check the "USB selective suspend setting" under advanced power options.
