The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    USB query

    My Presario 2111 has developed a strange problem. I use a Sagem USB adsl modem. This works fine when the machine is on battery power but disconnects after a couple of seconds when I connect the adapter. The same modem works on another machine so its not that. I have a hunch it has something to do with the USB connection. The technical advice people were very nice but had never heard of such a problem and had no suggestions. Any ideas?
