I've recently gotten my whole system board replaced by HP repair because my 8600m gs failed after 1 year of use. Is there any way I could underclock my GPU? The idle temps seem pretty high (50c!). Are there any other ways to cool it down or to make the life the GPU longer? Are the replacment GPU's also faulty?

    Thanks.

50 degrees idle is pretty good temperature for a idle gpu if ur not using a fan or anything

I was wondering the same thing. I sent one in for the same reason (same model too) back in May, the other day the screen started flickering/flashing and display driver stopped responding (some of the symptoms of a failing gpu). Hasn't done it since, but I'm worried it will fail on the 91st day.
