Hi guys, I recently got a HP DV6000 series laptop. To be specific I got the best buy 599 DV6223SE special on presidents weekend. I have been using this laptop for about a week and I love it however I noticed this weekend that the Keyboard is not perfectly level. If looking at the keyboard from the side I can see that the left hand side of the buttons stick out more on top that the right. The right are more flush with the casing. Is this a problem with all HP's or did i get a defective one? Thanks!

Hey guys, I just checked out some hp laptops at fry's. Almost all of them had the same problem with their keyboards. i guess it's a problem with manufacturing. The compaq's did not exhibit this problem but it prob cause the casing rises a bit more on the sides. Oh well. I guess I can live with it.

I have this problem too. But it ain't too bad. You'll forget about it soon. It doesn't really bother me, as long as the computer works.

    .

    Just a idea...

You could always remove the keyboard, and then shim up the low side. (or at least pull it out and LOOK at it... it might just not be "seated" right...)

Go to hp.com and download the Maintance and Service guide and it should tell you how to R&R the keyboard.
