My friend just got a dv2000 notebook, and it originally came with XP, but her hard drive crashed, and she got a new hard drive from frys.

upon installation of XP, and all the old drivers, the computer works completely, sound, video, wireless lan, memory card reader, dvd....

except we have no idea what this is:

I'm just wondering...I'm running Windows Vista 64bit, and she's running Windows XP 32bit.

I backed up my QuickPlay stuff under QLB\ and QPW\ folders when I did a clean install.

Will this installation folders work with her windows xp even though I have a different version of windows and bit version?

otherwise, is there a kind soul willing to rapidshare a QLB and QPW folder for me?

We didn't backup the XP one because the computer hard drive crashed leading me to this predicament.

Try the Synaptic driver and the Ricoh card reader driver. Download the drivers and install. Update the driver by choosing the appropriate directory. When I installed before these are the two drivers I had trouble with.

No...I for sure know that the Synaptic driver (for the touchpad) was installed correctly, because I've manually hidden the icon away, and I've checked my mouse properties and it's been installed.

Ricoh Card Reader is also installed correctly because I've inserted a SD and a MSduoPro memory card in the slots and both have work correctly.

What is the Microsoft ACPI Compliant System that it's located on?

Just install the QLB. The QPW is for the Quickplay software and Vista uses ver3.0 while XP need ver 2. The software is the same for both XP and Vista and if I can remember correctly it includes 32/64 bit versions as well.

It cant be Synaptics, touchpad gets detected automatically. Synaptics is more of a software that configures the touchpad. I never even installed mine and i have no unknown device.

My guess would either be QLB, webcam, 56k modem, Ethernet port or wireless/bluetooth. Im not sure as i dont know which parts you have

Youll find out sooner or later when something isnt working correctly
