    Unusually low battery life on dv9500t

    I just got a dv9500t and I find its battery life to be very low. Even if I don't do any thing intensive (music, games) and keep the brightness quite low, the battery drains very quickly. It's a high capacity 8-cell battery, but for some reason lasts only 1hr - 1.5hrs. What could be the cause of this? Is there a certain way I should charge this new battery to maximize its potential?

    run the hp battery check from the total care advisor and if it says to replace then you can get a new one for free.

    Since it is brand new, charge it and discharge it to 2% or 3% a few times and then you should be getting maybe an hour or two more or so

    Im having a similar problem..but it wont let me install the battery check on my lappy. Gives me an error then terminates the setup

    yeah thats not normal
    i get 2 hours on my normal capacity 8 cell
