I'm waiting for a new higher-end or business class HP, either an Envy or Elitebook. Basically I want the smallest package I can get with a 17", a non-glossy screen, and power! Anything on the horizon with quad core chips... and when are they expected?

have you looked at the G72gx by Asus? I have one. It is pretty amazing. Looks classy, backlit chiclet keyboard, GTX 260M, Q9000 oc'able to about 2.4, raided 320gb harddrives, easy to replace CD drive, 6gb of RAM. For about $1,300... Good deal, no?

That looks a wee bit thick for me, I'll be carrying it around a lot. And looks a little too gaudy too; I like simple, thin, businessey, an aluminum/magnesium chassis, not a lot of bezel around the screen, etc. I wish Asus continued with the W1, W2 line.

The 8740w looks cool, although it's missing HDMI out. Is that a non issue, is there any kind of converter for the outputs it does have? Sometimes I like to hook up the computer to a big TV for movies n stuff.
