Oops. Sounds like a problem. You mean it froze while it was upgrading? That is bad. I think you should take it to the service center. Sometimes BIOSes have backup copies that can come handy in case of unsuccessful flashing, but I have seen it only on desktop mainboards. I'm not sure if your HP has it.
Good luck, -

I did that with my HP one time - it was a zv5000z. BIOS update froze in the middle, I couldn't do anything about it. You'll have to call HP and send it in, that's the only way I know how to fix it.

Regular Motherboards have a way to recover from bad bios flashes. Basic Boot block will be intact, so with a standard floppy we could recover( it has a procedure, I do not recall all the steps at this time) and loads the working bios from that. I think allmost all MB now-a-day( may be since last 4 years) are coming with these similar bios chips. I think that is the case with all modern laptops too. But I am not sure what is the procedure( if there is any) as there is no floppy drive in the case of laptops.
Also I am not sure if the bios chips in these laptops are socketed or soldered. If it is socketed, then someone can reflash using standard socket and a flash writer.
