Well, it's been about 2 weeks since I bought my Compaq V3020CA and so far, it has been great. The T2050 Core Duo chip is good for me. Multitasking has been a breeze. The difference in FSB between T2050 and T2300 is so minimal it's not even worth considering. And having 1 Gb of RAM really helps. Slow downs are very minimal for most applications.

I've deleted all the trial softwares (ie. Norton, Office, etc.) and installed non-trial softwares that I got from my friend. You guys are probably thinking pirated software and you guys are right, but they work. I also uninstalled all the HP Games that were included. I'd keep them, but I know I'll be tempted to play them and most likely become addicted to them, which is not good when I have school at the moment. So I deleted them.

I've also downloaded StyleXP to change the look of my desktop. I'd post a screenshot, but I'm too lazy. Suffice it to say, I currently have a Vista inspired theme. So, the black/grey colour theme really compliments the exterior of my notebook. I also have ObjectDock Plus in place and it's not just for a fancy show. I really use it. Plus, with the Core Duo and 1 Gb RAM, ObjectDock doesn't lag unlike in my old notebook.

Some minor pet peeves are as follows:
    - Hard Drive: It has an annoying high pitched hum, but I've gotten used to it. Also, it gets hot, but it's nothing too dangerous that can cause an explosion. Because the HD gets hot, the left palm rest besides the mousepad gets warm, while the bottom gets quite hot.

    - Turning Off: This one is very weird for me. When I click on my Start Button, then Turn Off Computer, I sometimes don't get the window that shows the Restart, Hibernate/Stand-by, and Shut Down Buttons, after which the background fades to black and white. I'm not sure exactly what is up with this, but when it does happen, I have to use Task Manager. This is nothing major, but it's a bit of an annoyance. Anyone else have a problem like this?

Anyway, that's my experience with my new notebook. If anyone is interested in a notebook similar to mine and you have a question about it, just post it here. I'll try to answer it. :)
