    Hi,

is it possible that HP has slowed down with build times / shipping times? What are your experiences?
    My story:
I bought an HP tablet tx1000 last year and I couldn't beleive how fast it was finished and shipped!!! Great experience !!! :D
When I ordered the Pavillion dv4z I was expecting somewhat of the same timeline, but now I am concerned it may not even get to me as scheduled... :(
    Order accepted Dec 3rd,
today, Dec 9th (or in China, Dec 10th) still in production...
Estimated build time Dec 11th... (China/USA?)

    Will update.

Any experiences with shipping/build times lately?

BamAlmighty, can you let me know when it arrives? Trying to estimate if my laptop will make it here next week. If it takes longer I may just tell HP to go to h... and buy a laptop at bestbuy...

i have ordered two machines from hp - a dv7t in august and a dv4t in november.

in both cases, I built the machines and got them into my grubby paws within 10 days. the 'expected build date' or shipment date on their website is something not too many people meet. and this usually happens when they are out of a certain part or something else as serious.

also be aware that some people have had their machines delivered and the status on the website didn't change either! if you search this site, you will see at least a couple of instances like this. i definitely dont know what causes this.

you can call hp and ask them w t f and see what they say.

It depends on the demand for these computers.
It also depends on if you bought a custom order or one of the "preconfigured" ones.

I bought a custom dv9500t and it took them 3 weeks to build in China, but barely 1 week to ship it.

Heres my experience with shipping times. I ordered my dv5t in August and i received it on the estimated ship date. My cousin also bought a dv5t on black friday, and he should of received it on the estimated ship date but missed it. I thought HP was pretty quick on their shipments. Good luck to you.

Totally agree. We ordered a dv4z on 13Feb09 and the expected build date was the 25th. This was the actual delivery schedule.

I ordered my Dv3z On Feb 9th. The estimated ship date was Feb 18th. Hp pushed that back to the 23rd and gave me a $50.00 Coupon. On the 24th still had not shipped, so I called to ask what was up. They gave me $30 off. Then I got another email on the 26th saying the laptop would ship by the 28th. Finally shipped on the 28th. Still seems to be floating in Japan somewhere...
