Alright, so you got BF3, or NFS-TR, and ur just not happy with performance, Well the answer was really staring you in the face. Update your ATI Drivers to the Most Current ATI WHQL Driver.

Now Word of Caution, You actually want to

    1) install The Default ATI/Intel Driver That is provided by HP FIRST.

-If you already haven't done so. Probably a good idea to check if the default drivers from HP is newer than the ones that shipped onto your ENVY. Or you simply installed a fresh copy of windows, you want to first grab the Drivers from HP. Also make sure if windows updates is telling you to update the Intel or ATI Card through it, right click them and hide them, cause there wrong, and we'll bork your GPU, and make your laptop display go blank.

    Now were gonna

    2) download the latest Offering from ATI, 11.11 WHQL

The most important part about these drivers is, there somewhat device agnostic. So it should work for everyone. Another thing to keep note is, dont worry about the default installation, everything we'll work fine.

    3) That's it, restart maybe or sumthin.

    FAQS -------------------------------------

Q: I cant change my brightness when using the ATI Card
A: I found an even simpler fix than switching to the Intel Card to change brightness, just click the battery/power icon on the bottom right tray, and select "Adjust Screen Brightness". Brings up the power options gui, and on the bottom is the brightness control scroll xD!!!!!!!!!!! i couldn't believe my eyes, and it works!

    Q: The drivers didn't update
A: You're doing something wrong, Firstly you cant start off with No drivers installed and go off installing the ATI's Drivers First, You HAVE to install the HP ATI Drivers for your Envy's FIRST. THIS IS A MUST

Editors Note- I would like some responses from people doing this on you're particular envy and the issues you have, and what your experience is when doing the update, in order to make this thread a more central ATI Drivers Hub for all Envy Users, as opposed to them being all separate and hard to find.

I think you should rename the title of this thread. 1. There are problems specify to each Envy series, the first gen 15 has issue, the 14's has their own thread already and I assume the 17's as well. 2. It's misleading and confusing for some people.

side note: i don't understand why you have to create a new thread just to guide people how to install drivers that in general have no problem..
