    Updated dv9700 bios to F45

    Has anyone tried it out? I updated last night, but haven't seen any changes. It says it fixes issues with firewire, I never had any problems.

    Its always a good idea to update your BIOS... thought you may not see any visual difference between past and present. But they could have change stuff like; Fan algorithms, glitches in hardware detection, etc...

    same here... updated bios and everything seems to be running the same as before...but then... im no bios expert. im happy just as long as it works!

    I did a BIOS uodat recently after chatting with a HP Support guy regarding some other issue. Upgraded from F.13 to F.25 on my dv 2699.

    I'm sure its just wishful thinking, however, I updated 1 of 3 of my DV9500's, and it seems to go from Windows Logon to "Settled and Usable" much faster.

    Then again, I also applied updates for the IntelABGN and Realtek network components about the same time.

    I have not noticed any ill effects from the update.
