    Hi there!

I never quite figured out wich is the most advisable for driver updating:
#1 - from the laptop manufacturers update website (in my case HP)
    #2 - from each component/driver manufacturers website
    #3 - from WindowsUpdate

Almost every HP laptop user knows that HP Update website is ALWAYS outdated, so the drivers are ALWAYS outdated aswell! And when they are updated by HP, they tend to skip a few versions but still supplying us HP laptop users with outdated ones!
Examples? Almost every single one of them, but the most critical are, for example:
    Realtek HD Audio Driver
    Intel Chipset Installation Utility
    NVIDIA
    SynapticsTouchpad
    Intel PRO/Wireless
    etc.

For many times, it has crossed my mind to install new drivers from component/driver manufacturers website or WindowsUpdate, but never knew if that would be advisable or even safe!

What's your opinion and experience on this?

Thanks for the reading and future helps!
    Cumps!

Install most of the drivers from HP.

The drivers for the Video card, I would suggest going to laptopvideo2go.com and check it out.

Other then that, I say download the drivers from MS update. You cant really lose too much. Worst case scenario, you can reinstall the proper drivers. Trial and error.

I use drivers only from HP. Yes, they're out of date, but it usually doesn't matter. What difference is it to me if I have sound with an outdated driver? It's not like a new sound driver will make my music sound better. The only driver I'd consider getting non-HP is the GPU and that's if I was really into PC gaming which I'm not.

Very true, if your not that into gaming then get the graphics driver from HP. It will suit you just fine, if you want to play an occasional game then you may want to get a better driver.
