Am clueless how to check motherboard model and CPU Model.

I would like to upgrade CPU to its max.
What is the max i can upgrade, Sempron or Turion.
    Any suggestions?

It should be using a mobile socket 754 motherboard. Turion ML (35W) or maybe even the MT (25W) series should work with your system.

Make sure to update to the latest version of the bios before you do the upgrade.

    The Athlon 64 4000+ 2.6Ghz socket 754.
Does it work on my motherboard?
Turion 64 and Athlon 64, whats the diff?

Athlon is desktop and has an aluminum heat spreader. Turion is notebook and doesn't have the aluminum lid. Turions are usually lower wattage parts too. You want a Turion.

So long as that's the latest BIOS, all of the Socket 754 Turions should work.

Heya. I went looking for a shop at local Computer Centre who does CPU upgrading for laptops. Answers i got were from "can't upgrade CPU, need to change whole motherboard, dangerous (might have insufficient voltage), not worth it". No one is willing to do it.

Based on what i see online, its possible.

i guess i'll just have to do it meself. any tips? or know any DIY instruction with pics perhaps?

i'm deciding to get either a ML-40 o ML-42. but first i'll have rip laptop apart and check if they soldered my sempron to the mummyboard.

it shouldnt be. HP has service manuals online which should help with the disassembly process...
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00636251.pdf (This one is for the intel version but they share the same chassis. AMD version might be on HP's website, you might have to dig around to find it)

    here for AMD version.

I upgraded my V2000z, two years ago, from Sempron to Turion64 ML, all done without any problem. The notebook slightly run cooler in Turion64 ML but I heard MT series would be better.
