I'm trying to upgrade my parents' laptop to a quicker processor (and in doing so, convince them to stop using their desktop). I can't figure out which ones would be comaptible with this laptop though.

    It's a Compaq V2010US with a Celeron M 330 processor

It would also be nice to know the maximum memory on this thing too

AFAIK your system uses the 855GM chip-set which should support the Dothan Pentium M's with 400MHz bus (like PM 715, 725, 735 etc).

Yeah, just dont mix them up with the Pentium 4M's or the other mobile Pentium 4's. Compared to the Celeron M, the Pentium M's should run cooler and provide better battery life (since they have speedstep) plus provide better performance 2MB L2 cache vs. 0.5MB. Otherwise they are pretty similar.

P.S. If you cant find a Dothan Pentium M even the older Banias Pentium M should work. Pentium M's with 533MHz bus required a newer chipset. So avoid those.
