I've been lookin on ebay for a replacement drive for my DV2000t.

I have a DVD/CD-RW and am looking for a DVD-RW/CD-RW drive...dont need that lightscribe garbage...

just wondering....will different models such as dv6000 ect work as well....and is it easy to install?

It should be standard. If you have another laptop, you can pull out the drive from that laptop and compare. I am pretty sure it is inter-changeable.

yup it should install fine. theres a screw on the bottom and just use a small pin to pull out the drive door just like the emergency eject procedure and that helps pull the unit out.

Almost all slimdrives are standardized. The only other thing to look out for would be the front face plate which varies between different manufacturers. The dv6000t seems to have a similar face plate as the dv2000t series, but its kinda hard to tell from the pictures. As for as installation goes, it should pretty straight forward. remove a screw and pull the old and slide in the new one. The service manual should help you in replacing the drive. You can download the manual for the dv2000t from HP's website.
